Who can apply?
UMD freshmen and sophomores who have a cumulative University of Minnesota GPA of 3.3 or above with no more than 60 credits completed at the end of the semester you apply.
When to apply?
Current students can apply for admittance into University Honors anytime before the beginning of their junior year (assuming they have not completed more than 60 credits). We will make offers based on seat availability as we receive them. Early applications are more likely to be successful.
How to apply
We evaluate current UMD students on three criteria. The admissions essay, cumulative UM GPA, and list of extracurricular activities. Submit the following three components to complete the University Honors application:
- Personal Statement
- A list of extracurricular activities engaged in within the past four years.
- A copy of your transcript
